GUILD is Africa’s first international design fair, initiated and organised by Southern Guild. Exploring the theme of “making” at an elevated, collectible level, GUILD brings together a unique selection of limited-edition design from celebrated global galleries and institutions. GUILD forms part of the official World Design Capital programme, and hosts the first World Design Capital signature event for 2014, a Design Gala where the ICSID World Design Impact Prize will be announced.

GUILD is partnered by ArcelorMittal South Africa, sponsored by Absa Private Banking, a member of Barclays, and is presented in association with BMW South Africa, Samsung Electronics South Africa, the V&A Waterfront and World Design Capital 2014.

Southern Guild showed the best South African design talent alongside exhibitions presented by R & Company (New York), Spazio Orlandi (Milan), the Victoria and Albert Museum with the British Council (UK), and Coletivo Amor de Madre (Brazil).
