Born in Los Angeles, Trevor Potter is a technically accomplished sculptor and artist based in Cape Town. He creates timeless, lyrical pieces that spring from his well-observed studies of nature, with birds being a favourite focus.
Trevor graduated from the University of Cape Town’s Michaelis School of Fine Art in 2012. Over the following 18 months, he exhibited his work at Holden Manz Gallery in Franschhoek, for which he created scrap metal sculptures consisting of animatronic machines and robotic animals.
Towards the end of 2013, Trevor joined Bronze Age Foundry as an apprentice under sculptor Otto du Plessis where he gained hands-on experience in the production of bronze sculpture. He currently manages projects for the foundry as a resident artist, produces private commissions and pursues his own work in bronze sculpture.
